Who works with your child?
We are proud of our loyal and experienced team of staff, managed by Beth Towler, who ensure individual attention is given to every child. One member of staff is assigned to your child as a personal key worker, and you will be informed of this prior to your child starting Pre-School. All staff and Committee are subject to a Criminal Records Bureau check.

What is a key worker?
Our key worker system gives each member of staff particular responsibility for a few children. Our aim is to have Key worker and child attending together, but cannot always guarantee this The Key worker ensures that a child settles into Pre-School and monitors the child’s progress. Key workers assigned to children will work with them in small groups, will be available to discuss the child’s development and will provide written observations on the child’s progress in ‘The Learning Journey’, which accompanies the child through to Primary School. We aim to match key worker with child attendance but cannot always guarantee this, but will inform parents of their child’s key worker before starting at Pre-School.
What training is available to the staff?
As part of professional development, staff undertake a wide range of courses throughout the year in addition to statutory courses such as First Aid and Child Protection. We are a recognised setting for students undertaking childcare courses or gaining work experience.
Our membership of the Pre-School Learning Alliance (PLA) and relationship with WSCC ensures that we are constantly in touch with new thinking in the field of child education and care. The Committee encourages staff to attend relevant training and provides practical and financial support to enable them to do so.
